That hasn’t stopped some smaller, yet very innovative companies from jumping on the tablet PC bandwagon, releasing various tablet pc’s and form factors to try and compete with, and offer an alternative to, Apple’s iPad. At under $200.00 it’s much more obtainable for the majority of people that want to try out a Tablet PC but don’t want to spend $500.00 to do so.

I can honestly say that for most regular tasks, browsing the web, reading and responding to email, catching YouTube videos, etc… a Tablet PC – in this case the aPad, feels much more natural than any notebook or netbook out there today. There’s just something about holding it in your hands and being able to carry it around with you to show videos or pictures to friends that really does make a tablet PC very attractive.

Apple has announced releasing a new software update for popular iPhone 4, and that new firmware solution, iOS 4.0.1 (8A306) for the iPhone 4, 3GS, and 3G. This new update addresses the reception issue which is experienced when the phone is tightly griped in the left hand. That forthcoming update is expected to include a number of fixes that go beyond the reporting of signal strength on the iPhone.

According to Apple web page, the new iOS 4.0.1 software update for iPhone comes with various fixes and improvements, including the following: “Improves the formula to determine how many bars of signal strength to display.” At the same time, Apple notes that “This update contains security content originally included in previous iOS Updates.”

The cosmetic software fix, however, does not address antenna issues that some users have experienced specifically with the iPhone 4 hardware. Apple is expected to reveal its reaction to that issue at a press conference scheduled for 10 a.m. Pacific Time on Friday.

To update your iPhone to iOS 4.0.1, all you need to do is to connect your iPhone with your computer via USB and start iTunes. You should now see a message as shown below. Simply click on “Download and Install” button to get on to the new iOS 4.0.1 firmware.

iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS come with full support for iOS 4.0.1, while iPhone 3G, although supports the solution, does not support all the features included in it, such as multitasking and wallpapers, though it seems that even these can be enabled.

Apple has also released iOS 3.2.1 for iPad, addressing a number of issues including Wi-Fi connectivity issues as promised in an Apple support document posted several months ago:

How To Rip Dvd And Convert Video To Ipad

With the multimedia capabilities of the iPad (It can play MP4 and H.264 video), there is no doubt that we will want to rip DVD or convert video for using on the Apple tablet iPad. This tutorial will guide you through the entire process using the DVD Vide to iPad Converter. In the tutorial, we took the copy of Pixar’s “A Bug’s Life” and coverte the DVD for use on the iPad. The processing time is dependant upon your computer’s processor and the legnth of your DVD. “A Bug’s Life” is 1 hour and 34 minutes. On my computer, the entire process took roughly 30 minutes from start to finish. Now, let’s start the guide.

Step1. Download and install DVD Video to iPad Converter, the file size is about 12MB. it’s an all-in-one converter that can rip protected DVD movie and convert video to MP4 video for iPad. Then run the DVD to iPad Converter.

Step2: Load your DVD files into iPad Converter. Here we can load three kinds of DVD’s:
1. Real DVD, Insert your DVD disc into your computer drive, click ‘Add…’ to load it.
2. DVD ISO image (some torrent movies), you can amount your ISO files in the daemon tools and then click ‘Load ISO file’ to import it. No other iPad Converter can convert ISO file except this one.
3. A DVD folder, sometimes you may store the DVD folder in your hard drive, it appears like ‘Video_TS’ ‘Audio_TS’ folders. You can load it by clicking the ‘load DVD folders’.

Step3: Select Profile, Subtitle, Audio, output directory setting

Regular DVD movies usually have several subtitles such as English, French, German, etc. You can select one you prefer. You can also delete the subtitle by selecting ‘No Subtitle’. Step4: After all things done, click the ‘Start’ to begin the conversion. When the conversion is completed, click ‘Find Target’ to located the converted DVD or video file on your computer.

Step 5: If you want to add the converted DVD files to iPad through iTunes, please make sure your have the iTunes 9.1 or above at first, then follow these steps:
1. Connect your iPad to computer with the USB cable.
2. Open iTunes and wait for it to recognize your iPad.
3. locate the converted videos and drag them into your iTunes library.
3. Depending on your configuration, auto-sync should begin.
4. If not, then manually select whatever features you like to sync your iPad with and press the Sync button.
